Dawn Withers joined The Packer in December and is based in Salinas, Calif.

She joined the staff after working three years as a reporter for The Salinas Californian, covering local politics and agriculture.

She graduated with a bachelor of arts degree in journalism from San Francisco State University in 2004. Shortly after graduation, she went to Washington, D.C., for a political reporting internship with The Chicago Tribune. During her undergraduate studies, Dawn spent a year studying politics and journalism at two journalism schools in Europe and has been writing for newspapers since high school.
