Group to oversee Florida citrus disease research projects

The University of Florida and the Florida Department of Citrus have teamed up to create the Citrus Research and Development Foundation.

According to a story in the Orlando Sentinel, the foundation will manage $16 million designated for more than 100 citrus disease research projects conducted by the Department of Citrus and the Florida Department of Agriculture and Consumer Services.

The new foundation also will work with Florida Citrus Mutual, the Sentinel reported.
