Orchid Island orange juice wins taste test
In its June issue, Good Housekeeping magazine named Natalie’s Orchid Island Juice Company’s Gourmet Pasteurized Orange Juice as the best-tasting orange juice, said Lisa Rymer, marketing director for the Fort Pierce, Fla.-based Orchid Island Juice Co. The magazine’s website said testers tasted 12 juices and decided Natalie’s “trounced the competition.”
Orchid Island received hundreds of e-mail inquiries from consumers throughout the U.S. who wanted to buy the juice.
Orchid Island’s newest drink, Lucy’s Legacy All Natural Lemonade, is the first with the new Lucy’s Legacy brand name. It contains fresh lemon juice, pure cane sugar and water. The company plans to offer additional Lucy’s Legacy flavors by the end of the year, said Marygrace Sexton, chief executive officer.
In addition to marketing its own brands, Orchid Island produces private-label orange juice for retailers. Orchid Island juices are distributed throughout the U.S., but primarily east of the Mississippi River, and the retail price for a half-gallon ranges from about $3.99 to $5.99, Rymer said
