CENTRAL COAST, CALIF. — Shipments (8-10-7) — Movement expected to increase slightly. Trading moderate. Prices cartons lower, crates generally unchanged. Bok choy WGA crates $9.85-12, 30-pound cartons mostly $6.35-7.15. Quality generally good.

SAN JOAQUIN VALLEY DISTRICT, CALIF. — Shipments (10-8-9) — Movement expected to decrease slightly. No f.o.b. will be issued, as supplies are in too few hands to establish a market.

CENTRAL WASHINGTON — Shipments (2*-7-26) — Movement expected to increase. Trading fairly active. Prices 28-pound pyramid crates and cartons bunched Washington Extra Fancy mostly $44-44.75; Large mostly $42-42.75, Washington consumer pack 20-pound cartons bunched $28-30. Warmer weather beginnig of the week is spurring production. Quality generally good.

CARIBBEAN BASIN IMPORTS — Imports (9-10-6) — Imports via air and boat from Peru — Movement expected to increase. Ports of entry: south Florida.  Expect sufficient volume and number of importers to establish a market by end of the current week.

MICHIGAN — Shipments (0-0-0) — Movement expected to increase as warmer temperatures provide growth. Expect first pricing report mid-month.

Beans

CENTRAL AND SOUTH FLORIDA — Shipments (63-68-53) — Movement expected to decrease. Trading fairly active. Prices higher. Includes palletizing and precooling. Bushel hampers, cartons and crates round green-type machine-picked mostly $12.85, handpicked mostly $14.85-15.85. Wax-type and flat green supplies insufficient and in too few hands to establish a market. Quality generally good.

COACHELLA VALLEY, CALIF. — Shipments (7-10-13) — Movement expected about the same. Trading early fairly active; late active at lower prices. Prices lower. 30-pound carton round green-type handpicked mostly $22.95. Quality variable.

CARIBBEAN BASIN IMPORTS — Imports (5-5-5) — Imports via boat from Guatemala — Movement expected to remain about the same. Ports of entry: south Florida. Trading moderate. Prices unchanged. Hericot vert (French-type) 5-pound cartons $5-6. Quality good.

SOUTH GEORGIA — Shipments very light — Movement expected to increase as more shippers start to pack this week. First f.o.b. expected by May 12 as justified by volume and number of shippers packing. FIRST REPORT
