The Arlington, Va.-based Reusable Packaging Association will take full advantage of the gathering of the industry at Pack Expo by hosting its annual meeting in conjunction with the big event Oct. 5-7 at the Las Vegas Convention Center.

The RPA’s annual meeting, tabbed “2009 Choose Reusables Conference at Pack Expo,” is open to members and nonmembers, according to a release.

The meeting is scheduled to include a welcome reception, breakfast, two roundtable general sessions and a board of directors meeting. In addition, participants can partake in four reusuable packaging sessions at Pack Expo and attend the Expo’s trade show for no extra charge, according to the release.

“The economic downturn has created a heightened interest in reusuable packaging sys-tems because of their potential to increase a company’s profitability and productivity,” Bob Klimko, chairman of the RPA, said in the release. “For this reason, we scheduled our Choose Reusables Conference in conjunction with Pack Expo in order to make informa-tion and resources on reusables available to a wider audience.”

Besides, RPA president Jerry Welcome said in the release, holding the annual meeting in conjunction with Pack Expo adds convenience and cost savings to all association members.

“The sessions offered by RPA will provide added strategic value to anyone attending Pack Expo,” Welcome said in the release.
