Late blight has been confirmed in five Wisconsin counties.
Blight was first found July 14 on a potato plant in Marquette County and on a tomato plant in Waukesha County, according to a July 27 news release from the University of Wisconsin extension office.
On July 23, blight was confirmed in a potato field in Portage County and in tomato fields in Monroe and Kewaunee counties.
The potato and tomato late blight strains are capable of infecting each other, said Amanda Gevens, a University of Wisconsin plant pathologist.
