Yuma, Ariz-based Natural Delights will promote Chief Operating Officer Hector Altamira to succeed CEO Tim Rooney, effective April 1.

The company said in a news release that Rooney plans to step down to oversee organizational strategy for Avenir Financial, a credit union in Yuma.

"We extend our heartfelt gratitude to Tim for his invaluable contributions to the growth and success of the Natural Delights brand," Ted Johnson, chairman of the Bard Valley Date Growers Board, said in the release. "With Hector at the helm, we are confident that Natural Delights will continue to thrive, delivering the highest quality medjool dates to our customers worldwide."

Altamira has been with Natural Delights for seven years. The company said his understanding of operations will position him well to lead the company in the future. As COO, he spearheaded efforts to improve revenue return rates for growers.

“I am deeply honored to step into this new role,” Altamira said in the release. “Ensuring our tradition of excellence, I'm looking forward to fostering growth.”
